A SUNDAY AFTERNOON PICNIC

Bob and Barb take a spin around the railroad with the camelback.  They are running in the counterclockwise direction, which was the usual direction up to now.
Jan props her feet up while Joe functions as a back seat driver.  We switched all the trains to clockwise running.  Everybody seemed to like clockwise better.
Carl runs the camelback at the new junction.  In this direction it's a steady 3 percent climb for over 100 feet, all in the shade. David runs the Critter at the same location.  The day before I did a lot of grading in the area behind him to ease the grade from 4 percent to 3 percent.
The the trains take a break while the hamburgers are a-cooking on the grill.  Our appetizer was Hot Poppers made by Bob and Barb.  And yes, they were hot! Smokey is checking out the camelback.  It had a connecting rod problem and had to be sidelined the rest of the day.
With one engine down, we added a car to the other train.  The Critter had no problem hauling three large men around the railroad. Charlotte asked Jan if she wanted to ride Piney and she said "I'd love to!"  After a bit of walking alongside, Charlotte let her take the reins.  The smile says it all.
IF SHE WON'T GIVE ME A COOKIE MAYBE JOE WILL - and apparently it worked.  Joe doesn't look phased at all by Piney's big head.
"STAY AWAY FROM MY COOKIES!" Nancy says to Piney.  Just because he's big and strong and very insistent doesn't mean she's going to give in!
MAKING FRIENDS - Piney and Smokey are introducing themselves to Bev.  I'm not sure if she slipped them some cookies but they sure were begging!
CLEANUP RUN - I'm driving the tractor Jan is riding the trailer, making sure the grill doesn't fall off.  Everyone pitched in nicely to get the cleanup done.
