Now it's time to make the second point rail.  Here we're using the bandsaw to cut into the head and base of the rail.
After a couple minutes of cutting, here is the result.  This saw cut has saved a LOT of filing!

At the workbench, I'm using a hacksaw to cut the head of the rail on the other side.
Here's what the end of the point rail looks like when I'm done filing.

Here's the new turnout, almost finished.  It needs a throwbar, frog adjustment, and guardrails.  Maybe I can install it tomorrow!
The new point rail is on the left, fitting snugly against the stock rail.
