JULY 6 - OFF THE BEATEN TRACK
I hate to admit it.  We got lost.  We were looking for the Niles Canyon Railway but ended
up in the mountains above Berkeley.  Lo and behold, we saw a sign for "Steam Railroad" so
we followed the arrow.  We ended up at an interesting 15-inch, 5-inch scale railroad called
the Redwood Valley Railroad, located in Tilden Park. It was open so we took a ride.
We got directions to the Niles Canyon Railway.  We should have gone south from that last
layout tour, not north.  It was closed today, and there were no good views of the locos and
cars.  But on the way, we spotted a short BNSF train in Fremont, two engines and 3 cars.
